Julie Lin is – and has been since the moment I met her – someone who on meeting you know is going to do well and do good. She’s such a talent, but has such an all-encompassing warmth and joy for the people who find themselves in her orbit. This is not to say that she’s soft though, she’s strong and will stand up for anyone or anything she loves and believes in.

This book is a testament to all of these qualities, it’s filled with passion for her motherland’s food, but sits side-by-side with the food of her childhood in Glasgow. It honours her brilliant Mum, who’s food I have been lucky enough to be fed on multiple occasions, and the women before her.
